Sleep Apnea - Symptoms

  • Loud snoring with periods of silence followed by loud gasps
  • Obesity
  • High blood pressure
  • Falling asleep during the day at work, watching TV or in the car
  • Loss of energy
  • Loss of concentration
  • Short temper
  • Forgetfulness
  • Mood swings
  • Anxiety or depression
  • Loss of libido

Although it's more common than Asthma, Sleep Apnea is far less recognised and increases patients risk of heart disease and strokes. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration the condition also puts you in more danger of being involved in a road accident. Around 56,000 crashes last year alone were caused by people asleep behind the wheel.
